RN Network Sweeps Category on Florida Top Workplace List
Recognition marks fourth "best company" win for travel nurse agency this year
Online, July 31, 2012 (Newswire.com) - RN Network, a leading provider of travel nurse staffing, ranks No. 1 in its category on the list of Florida's Best Companies to Work For 2012 . This is the fourth "best company" nod for RN Network this year.
The annual statewide Best Companies list appears in the August issue of Florida Trend magazine and on FloridaTrend.com. Out of the 100 area firms that were recognized RN Network took first place in the medium-sized company category.
"Taking the top spot in a statewide competition is a huge honor," said Bill Heller, President of RN Network. "I pinch myself every day in disbelief that I get to work at such a cool place."
RN Network is a healthcare staffing company that provides travel nursing jobs to RNs across the country, placing them in hospitals and healthcare facilities in all 50 states. As a member of the National Association of Travel Healthcare Organizations (NATHO), RN Network adheres to quality standards set by the industry and is an eight-time recipient of The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval.
Earlier this year, RN Network was recognized by South Florida Business Journal as the 2012 Business of the Year, as well as one of the Top 3 companies in its category for Best Places to Work. Moreover, RN Network's parent company, CHG Healthcare Services, has made FORTUNE magazine's list of 100 Best Companies to Work For in America for three consecutive years, most recently in the Top 10.
To be considered for the Florida Trend Best Companies list, competing firms underwent an evaluation of their workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. Additionally, a randomly selected group of employees in each company were surveyed about leadership and planning; corporate culture and communication; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and development; pay and benefits, and overall engagement.
The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the registration, survey and analysis and determined the final rankings. The program is endorsed by the HR Florida State Council
"One thing that distinguishes best companies everywhere is their ability to hire effectively. So for our coverage this year we focused on how Florida's Best Companies go about identifying and choosing their workers," said Mark Howard, Florida Trend Executive Editor. "Hard skills are clearly important, but the companies we talked to generally put a lot of emphasis on other things as well - how well a worker will fit into the company's culture, for example. And in deciding whether to hire someone, they frequently involve as many of their current employees as possible."
Florida Trend Publisher, Andrew Corty, added "The groups that carefully evaluate new staff are frequently the same ones that serve their clients exceptionally well. It's our pleasure to recognize these great companies and encourage others to join them in building Florida's competitive advantage."
On the magazine's website is an RN Network company profile featuring an interview with employee, Nathaniel Shoshan, who talks about the cultural interview process and unique perks. "The positive environment makes you actually miss the office... you actually want to be back at work."
Mr. Heller also told Florida Trend what RN Network looks for in internal job candidates. "We try to understand the person more than from just their past work experience, initially at least. We feel like we can train anyone who has the right personality... someone with good communications skills, empathy, common sense and good follow-up and follow-through."
At its Boca Raton, Fla., headquarters, RN Network employs nearly 80 people including a sales team of nurse recruiters and business partners consisting of personnel in accounting, licensing, credentialing, housing and general operations. Interested job candidates can apply for position openings at RN Network through CHG's career page .
"We are always looking for qualified candidates to join our team and remain bullish about hiring and growth," Mr. Heller said.
