"The reason I practice veteran's law is because my late father was denied his veteran's benefits. I wanted to help others avoid the the same type of struggles my father had to endure."

With over 25 years dedicated to law, Walsh brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular to his area of specialization, Veteran's Disability Law and Social Security Disability Law. When asked what inspired him to pursue this specialization, Walsh said:
"The reason I practice veteran’s law is because my late father was denied his veteran’s benefits. I wanted to help others avoid the the same type of struggles my father had to endure."
As a thought-leader in his industry, Walsh has dedicated his career to helping veterans fight for their benefits. Soon after he graduated the Veterans Court was founded in 1990. Mr. Walsh worked as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 1990 to 1992. Throughout his career Walsh has fought with purpose and perseverance on behalf of his clients. He noted:
"My clients are ill, some are indignant, they’re often homeless, they don’t have a lot of money. This isn’t corporate law here. Every year we get a homeless veteran off the streets by winning their benefits case. These are people that have often been down and out for twenty years and living at the margins. You win their claim for them and finally they get to live with a little bit of dignity."
Walsh opened his own private practice in Battle Creek in 1994. He has previously served as Of Counsel for the Washington D.C. law firm Dixon & Dixon International from the Al-Waqayan & Dixon office in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and as Staff Attorney for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He was also an Adjunct Clinical Professor for the Veterans Law Clinic at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Walsh is a member of the following professional organizations: American Bar Association; State Bar of Michigan; Federal Bar Association; National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA); Court of Appeals for Veteran Claims Bar Association; District of Columbia Bar Association; Calhoun County Bar Association; Delta Theta Phi; National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives (NOSSCER); and the Federal Circuit Bar Association.
