Castro, a native New Yorker, first captured our hearts as the lead in the movie “Jersey Girl,” then showcased her remarkable vocal and dance talents to the world on NBC's Emmy Award winning "The Voice." As a finalist on Christina Aguilera’s squad, Raquel recalls her most memorable stage moment: "Performing "Lady Marmalade" with Christina Aguilera and the team.”
Welcome to Summer 2015 where Castro’s latest offering "Young & Dumb" is slated to impact radio and retail this August. Written by Raquel Castro and produced by Jon Kilmer with remixes by DJLW, this catchy and memorable tune she calls “Hip-Pop,” pop with a fun urban flavor. “I want my music to be honest and relatable with a feel-good vibe.” said Raquel.

Raquel has appeared since her youth on several episodes of “Sesame Street” and “Nick Jr.,” ET’s “Kid’s Choice Awards,” “Law & Order SVU,” Broadway’s “White Christmas,” Ludacris/Mary J. Blige music video for “Runaway Love,” Rosie O’Donnell’s “America” (Lifetime) and “Winging It” (Canada).

She is half Puerto Rican, and half Italian.
She is the fourth of five children, with two older sisters, an older brother and a younger brother.
Her older brother Anthony is in the US Air Force.
Her brother David is a cast member on ABC Family’s “Shadowhunters”
Her nickname is Kel.
She was on the dance competition team at Michelle Ferraro's Dance USA and has won first place in jazz, hip hop, tap and lyrical.
She has a teacup Pomeranian named Karma.
