RocSearch - Driving CSR In The Corporate Arena
Online, May 21, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The most recent quarterly visit to the SOS Faridabad village was organized on 30th April 2010.The visit was aimed at uplifting the awareness of children in key areas of life through formal and informal interactions. A dozen RocSearch employees visited the SOS homes to spend time with the children and provide encouragement and guidance to them. The Faridabad SOS Village has around 20 homes. Each home is managed by a 'Mother" and accommodates 10 children. This unique concept makes SOS Village a "home away from home".
It was heartening to see the zeal and talent of the SOS children. All of them are blessed with unique talents and the village administration has made adequate arrangements to help them hone their talent. The visit to homes was marked by over an hour of informal interactions with both the children and the Mothers. RocSearch employees actively accompanied children in their activities and had a thoroughly interactive and fun-filled session which culminated with distribution of gifts to children. The gifts brought a "BIG SMILE" on children's faces.
After that RocSearch conducted a Computer Literacy Session for children above 11 years of age. The purpose was to educate children about the use of basic software that are critical for success in today's business world. In the highly interactive session, two team members from RocSearch walked the children through the various features of MS-Word and MS-Excel.
The visit also saw a well organized Career Counseling Session for 25 children in classes Xth - XIIth. The RocSearch team distributed a Career Guide which contained in-depth information on prospective career options available for various course streams, eligibility for getting admission to these courses and available scholarship avenues. The participating children were divided into 5 batches and the discussion lasted for more than an hour. It was a highly fruitful session for the target audience and RocSearch plans to continue with these sessions in upcoming visits.
All in all, the CSR visit proved to be a mutually beneficial exercise for both the parties. RocSearch employees, Juhi and Mayank explaining their experience said "It was truly an enriching and mutually benefiting experience visiting the SOS Children's village. We were able to help the children with their questions regarding the career options available to them based on their choice of different course streams and believe that this information could be instrumental in providing guidance to them at this crucial stage of their life. Seeing the lit up faces of the children brimming with curiosity and enthusiasm have motivated us to engage in more such events during upcoming trips. Being associated with such a cause brings a sense of accomplishment along with being socially responsible. We are looking forward to the next visit and can safely say that we can make a huge difference in our own special way!"
RocSearch has made CSR an integral part of its business model and will continue to pursue its CSR agenda like any responsible company should.
