Rodney Lough Jr.'s New Photo, Moulton Barn - Centennial, Chosen as Official Representation of the T.A. Moulton Barn Centennial Celebration

Master Wilderness Photographer Rodney Lough Jr.'s new image, Moulton Barn - Centennial, was chosen as the Official Representation of the T.A. Moulton Barn Centennial Celebration. Rodney is donating the photo to an auction to help preserve the barn.

The T.A. Moulton Barn, spectacularly set in Grand Teton National Park, is both an iconic piece of American West history and the most photographed barn in the world. It's turning 100 this year, but it needs some serious restoration work to last another century. To help raise the money to preserve the barn and celebrate the centennial, the Moulton family is holding a celebration and silent auction, and Rodney Lough Jr. has created a stunning new photograph specifically for this event: Moulton Barn - Centennial.

Hal Blake, T.A. Moulton's great-grandson, issued this statement of thanks on behalf of the entire Moulton family:

"We are proud to be working in collaboration with renowned photographer Rodney Lough, Jr. who has released a captivating limited edition image, 'Moulton Barn - Centennial,' which will serve as the official representation of the Moulton Barn Centennial Celebration."

Rodney was incredibly honored that his photograph was chosen as the celebration's official representation. A further honor was finding out that a poster of the image would be offered for sale by the Grand Teton National Park Bookstore. You see, he loves the Moulton barn with its incredibly scenic backdrop, and was thrilled to help, as you can tell from the story that he wrote about the photograph:

"If you look closely at this image, you can see a heart created by the light shining on the long grass. This heart encompasses the weathered barn, which is wholly appropriate. This barn was created, 100 years before I'm writing this story, with a lot of love and lot of hard work. And now, a century later, it is love that brings the Moulton family, myself and everyone else together to preserve this barn so that future generations can enjoy it as much as we do today."

Rodney is releasing Moulton Barn - Centennial in two editions, a Limited Edition series of 500, and an Artist Proof series of 50. Number one in each series is always extremely valuable, so Rodney is giving the Moulton family Artist Proof #1 for their wonderful generosity in sharing the barn with the world and their work supporting it. Limited Edition #1 will be donated to the silent auction at the party to raise money for the restoration of the barn, so future generations can be awed by its beauty.

The T.A. Moulton Barn Centennial Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 10:00 AM CST, on Mormon Row in Grand Teton National Park, Jackson, WY. There will be lots of fun activities, plus a raffle and of course the silent auction that features Rodney's new photograph, Moulton Barn - Centennial. All proceeds from the event will go to support the restoration of the barn.

Construction on the T.A. Moulton Barn was started in 1913 to shelter horses and cows from the harsh Wyoming winters. It was part of the Moulton family's homestead on what became known as Mormon Row, and they worked the land there until 1961. In the 100 years since, it has become a national landmark, loved particularly by photographers like Rodney Lough Jr.
