Over 60 years ago New York's Museum of Modern Art displayed the "Eight Automobiles," exhibit, which in the words of then-MOMA curator of architecture Arthur Drexler, proclaimed that automobiles should be viewed as "rolling sculpture.”  To paraphrase famed coachbuilder Sergio Pininfarina, cars were born old, ‘baroque or gothic’.  In the decades which have passed since the MOMA’s groundbreaking exhibit, elements of automotive form and function have converged, leading the to the creation of more perfect and ultimately, beautiful forms. Two fine examples are the Lamborghini Miura P400 S and the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 both of which will be on display and for sale at the upcoming auction.
