Rosarium Publishing Wins Glyph Pioneer Award

Indie comic book and scifi novel publisher Bill Campbell, founder of Rosarium Publishing was honored with a Pioneer Lifetime Achievement Award by the East Coast Black Age of Comic Convention (ECBACC) in Philadelphia on Friday, May 20th at the African American Museum of Philadelphia.

Campbell received the award for his publication APB: Artists Against Police Brutality. A benefit comic book anthology that focuses on hot-button issues including police brutality, the justice system, and civil rights, with one primary goal: show pictures and tell stories that get people talking. The proceeds of the book go to The Innocence Project, an organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people. APB was co-edited by Jason Rodriguez and John Jennings who also won a Glyph Award himself that night for Best Comic Book Cover for his graphic novel Blue Hand Mojo #1.

Special thanks go out to my co-editors, Jason Rodriguez and John Jennings and all the artists and writers who were brave enough to say something. APB was a project to speak out for those whose voices have been silenced. I'm glad that we are being heard.
