Rugged Video Releases the RVS-HD Remote Viewing System for Rotorcraft Operators

The Remote Viewing System is a simple, low-cost way to improve situational awareness for lift, utility, and search and rescue rotorcraft.

Rugged Video is excited to announce the release of the Remote Viewing System for rotorcraft operators.  The RVS-HD is a low latency camera and monitor solution that improves situational awareness for pilots and hoist operators.  The system consists of a full HD micro-bullet camera, high brightness HD monitor, regulator for aircraft power, and the cabling and accessories needed.  Current installations and STC options include: AS350, EC120, MD500, R44, R66, Bell 206, Bell 407, AW109, and AW101.

Roy Dietsch, CEO says,

“For years we’ve been adapting our flight tour and aerial patrol technology to work as a remote viewing system for utility operators.  Now we are proud to release a purpose built system specifically for those operators.  We’ve improved the system as a whole by reducing the number of components and incorporating a higher resolution aluminum frame monitor, all while also reducing the cost”.

The Remote Viewing system features an ultra-low latency 1080p60 high definition camera and monitor package.  The camera, called the HD19, can be mounted inside or outside the cockpit and is only ¾” in diameter and 2-3/8” long allowing for more versatility in mounting.  The monitor features a 6.9” high-brightness screen and a robust aluminum frame, making it strong and light weight.

RVS-HD systems are sold complete with an aircraft regulator accepting 10-36VDC and all of the cabling required for installation.  Systems include a number of mounting options as well as STC options for a number of the most popular airframes.
