Initially, the new weighbridge was set up for temporary use and then installed permanently when the foundation was ready. Sand can cause problems by collecting under a weighbridge and around its load cells. For the permanent installation, risers were used to position the weighbridge and its load cells above the ground. That provides easy access for clearing the area under the weighbridge and preventing frozen material from building up during the winter. The weighbridge is cleaned regularly and maintained properly to ensure a long life.
