SEATTLE, August 14, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Sukarya USA reaches out to to all US companies having offices in Delhi & Gurgaon in India to run for Sukarya at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon (ADHM) 2018 on October 21, as a Caring Champion or Diamond and help Sukarya reach more mothers and children in need.
The purpose is to spread the awareness of its Maternal and Children's Health and Nutrition program for giving women and children, living in hard-to-reach villages and slums, easy access to basic health care and proper nutrition.
Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.
Albert Einstein, Scientist and Thinker
It is important to note here that:
1 in 3 of the worlds malnourished children live in India,
In 2015 maternal deaths in India stood at 45,000 or 15% such deaths across the world, and India registered 1 million under-5 deaths in 2016, highest in the world.
Sukarya has been working extensively in health and nutrition for the past two decades and has served around 5 million women and children in around 600 villages and 90 slums in Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Its focus is especially on addressing malnutrition among the most vulnerable sections of society. Even after 70 years of independence, the prevalence of undernutrition, stunting, wasting, and micro-nutrient deficiencies like anemia, vitamin A deficiency is very high, which is a major concern for India.
Sukarya has been a regular participant of the ADHM since its inception. This platform has consistently provided us the opportunity to raise funds and contribute towards the cause. This is the 10th edition of ADHM, and Sukarya is excited to be part of it to attain all of the support from individuals and corporations so that it can extend and sustain its service delivery towards women and children in need.
Help Sukarya to fight anemia and malnutrition among women and children and to promote adolescent reproductive and sexual health. To create a fund-raising page please visit https://lnkd.in/f2i26k9.
