Russell Brown, Managing Partner of LehmanBrown International Accountants and Treasurer of the British Chamber of Commerce in China spoke on the importance of Individual Income Planning for expatriates in China.

BEIJING, 5th MAY 2010 - Russell Brown, Managing Partner of LehmanBrown International Accountants and Treasurer of the British Chamber of Commerce in China spoke on the importance of Individual Income Planning for expatriates in China.

Held on Tuesday, 27th April and co-hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce in China and the China-Britain Business Council, the seminar offered a two-pronged focus on planning and taxation for expatriates receiving China-sourced income.

Russell Brown commented:

"Planning is essential when managing the often complex nature of receiving, distributing and declaring China-sourced individual income. To ensure compliance with Chinese law and to maximise upon income planning opportunities, individuals must have a clear understanding of their obligations and options."

Russell Brown added:

"Increasing numbers of expatriates are choosing to reside and work in China long-term. Following this, property ownership and changes in residency status then become factors, which can in due course alter an individual's tax obligations. Through advance planning, individual's can ensure compliance whilst making the most of available income planning options."
