Russian Export Center and Wildberries Signed an Agreement

The agreement aims to develop Russia's non-resource exports, to ensure the participation of Russian exporters in the international trade, especially through e-commerce trade channels, and to collaborate on the development of proposals for improving the legal regulation of foreign economic activity of the Russian Federation.
REC/Wildberries Agreement

The Russian Export Center (REC) and Wildberries signed an agreement on strategic cooperation to support Russian manufacturers' export. The signing took place at the World Trade Center during Russian Retail Week 2019.

"The agreement enables Russian manufacturers, especially regional ones, to use Wildberries' business experience and state assistance via REC in their work at foreign markets. This will allow manufacturers and retailers, even minor ones, to increase their market share and attract foreign buyers through Wildberries' online store," said Andrey Slepnev, general director of the Russian Export Center Group.

The signing was attended by: Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; Viktor Evtukhov, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; Andrey Karpov, Head of the Russian Retail Week; Ilya Yakubson, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Russian Retail Market Experts Association; Vladlen Maksimov, Vice-President of the All-Russian Non-Governmental Organization of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses OPORA RUSSII; Andrey Slepnev, General director of the Russian Export Centre Group; and Tatyana Bakalchuk, CEO and founder of Wildberries.

In 2019, the Russian Export Center became the general partner of Russian Retail Week (RRW). The development of Russia’s export became one of the key topics of the large-scale industry forum for retailers, suppliers, business owners and top managers of retail chains. The forum program included such panel discussions as "Successful cross border: How to succeed in retail cross-border trade,” "Tax-free as an incentive for foreign citizens to make purchases" and "Tmall marketplace opportunities in Russia. Export potential," where visitors were introduced to TMall, a website for retailers, which along with AliExpress belongs to Alibaba Group and is designed to bring Russian online trade to a new level of quality.

The Russian Export Center, being a state institute for supporting non-resource exports, provides Russian exporters with a wide range of financial and non-financial support measures. The REC focuses on improving export conditions and eliminating the existing barriers impeding foreign economic activity.

Wildberries is a Russian international online store, which sells clothes, shoes and electronics, as well as goods for children and households, as well as other goods. Besides Russia, it also operates in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. In 2019, the company is planning to enter the EU market.
