Russian Export Center Supports the Discussion About the Export of Russian Wines Within the Framework of Neva. Retail Days

Russian Wine Days congress which supported by the Russian Export Center will take place on Nov. 19-20 in St. Petersburg within the framework of the Neva. Retail Days forum. Representatives of retailers, distributors and exporters from nine European countries will participate in its business program. The experts will discuss the trends of the global wine trade and estimate the prospects for domestic wine promotion.

The Russian Wine Days international business forum will be attended by wine trade professionals from Sweden, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Belarus. Among the foreign guests expected to attend the forum are Michel Hartong, International Commercial Manager at SPAR International; Margaretha Lundberg, wine import and sale specialist at Systembolaget (the Swedish Alcohol Retailing Monopoly) and Dimitri Bonte, Belgium importer of Russian wines, Founder of Start2Taste company, as well as other international wine market professionals.

The Russian Wine Days is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian Retail Market Experts Association together with the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovations and Trade of Saint Petersburg. The Russian Export Center is the General partner of the event.

The business program for foreign delegates will begin on Nov. 19 with a closed-door comparative tasting of Russian-made wines and foreign wines illustrating the most current trends in global customer preferences. Participants will be able to evaluate wines on the WineIncognito digital system platform, which allows to quickly compare evaluations. Leading Russian wine tasters will also participate in the tasting session together with their foreign colleagues. The discussion of the tasting results will continue the program. Russian winemakers will receive feedback from Russian and foreign experts on the quality of their wines in comparison with foreign ones.

The first day of the business forum will end with a session of Russian wine exporters dedicated to the unified strategy of promoting the domestic wine brand in the international market. In particular, the Krasnodar region development corporation, representing the largest wine region in the country will tell about the results of the Russian winemakers' exposition in Shanghai.

The second day will also feature a number of sessions devoted to the issues of state regulation of the wine industry, initiatives to support exports and promotion in the domestic market. Professionals of the Northwestern wine trade market of Russia will discuss the situation in the alcohol market of the Northwestern Federal District and St. Petersburg, which is one of the centres of foreign tourist attraction.
