Rustic Motifs Launches Marketing and Sales Platform for Ngos

Creates more avenues for NGOs to market and sell their products

Rustic Motifs, a Bangalore based startup that promotes Indian Handmade products, today announced their partnerships with NGOs from across Karnataka.

Rustic Motifs is a 2 and a half year old brand, which designs and works with rural artisans pan India to create home décor products. The company recently tied up with several NGOs offering them marketing expertise and a sales platform by promoting their products on it’s e-commerce store, across social media and its physical store ensuring these products reach a wider and more discerning audience.

"We are getting a very good response for this initiative. But at the moment, we are a little choosy on who we partner with to ensure our partners adhere to similar quality standards that our brand promotes. In the future, we also want to work with them on their product designs ensuring more innovative products which can compete in terms of price, creativity, quality and durability with that of the machine made mass goods" concludes Merlin Francis, Founder, Rustic Motifs.

We see a lot of exhibitions being held by various organizations to enable rural artisans and NGOs to sell their products, while these are great, these are also very expensive, with the minimum fee in the range of Rs.2000- Rs.4000 per day. The artisans / NGO’s come from all over the country to participate, they spend money for travel, for stay apart from paying for the stalls. All these factors contribute to the rise in the price of the hand-made products, making it affordable only for a select few” says, Avantika Heblikar, Founder, Rustic Motifs.

Under this initiative the company intends to partner with NGOs who are into training the underprivileged, differently abled, financially backward people with vocational skills producing handmade and environment friendly goods that can be sold in the market. It hopes to make it economical for the NGOs to sell their goods to a wider audience without shelling out a heavy fee and in turn make handmade goods more affordable for the buyer.

Our marketing efforts have been fairly local and limited. Our tie up with Rustic Motifs will help us reach a wider audience, beyond Bangalore city. We also believe that Avanitka and Merlin's experience in the area of marketing will help broaden the appeal of our product line, leaving us time to focus on production and creating new product designs, production of which can be broken down into easy to follow steps for the differently abled we work with” says Suman John, CEO Diya Innovations, an arm of Diya Foundation, Bangalore

The brand has currently tied up with Kai Krafts, Diya Foundation of Bangalore and Belaku Trust, and products by these NGOs can be bought on the Rustic Motifs Website or at their store in Jayanagar.
