RXVIP Introduces Wellness Prescription CheckUps to Deliver Better Patient Outcomes at the Point of Care

Wellness Prescription CheckUps Enhance The Role Of The Pharmacist As A Valued Health Care Provider
RXVIP Cares

RXVIP Enterprises, LTD, announced today the creation of a Wellness Prescription CheckUp encounter protocol to deliver better patient outcomes with an innovative new way for Pharmacists to practice their profession at the height of their license.

The Wellness Prescription CheckUp (WPC) is a face-to-face consultation delivered in the physician's office by a trained Concierge Pharmacist who reviews all aspects of the patient's health record and medication regimen. This annual WPC includes the collection and evaluation of vitals, lab tests, patient history, patient's chief complaints and overall disease state assessment. The patient will receive cost-saving and life-saving solutions that address their specific needs, plus coordination with their primary care physician and communication to all other approved caregivers and/or health care providers.

Pharmacists have an integral role, not only in medication management, but in helping patients find ways to pay for the medications that they need. People across the country cannot afford their prescriptions, which leads to poor adherence and declining patient outcomes

Michelle Liang, RXVIP Director of Student Engagement at St. John's

These comprehensive value-based wellness services are covered by Medicare and most commercial insurances under the patient's medical benefits.

With an eye on the future, RXVIP also announces the creation of the first RXVIP Cares Patient Advocate network of Concierge Pharmacists, Concierge Pharmacy Interns, and Alumni of St. John's - College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. This growing collaborative group of patient-centric care providers has joined together to create an experiential career development program that provides the pathway and training needed to become one of our RXVIP Concierge Pharmacists.

RXVIP Concierge Pharmacists will mentor Pharm.D. candidates from St. John's from the time they receive their White Coat, by creating a professional practice environment where they will work directly with physicians to deliver the clinical services that they were trained for in school. The face to face encounters they deliver plus their ongoing patient engagement and outreach will enhance their role as Future Providers in the health care system.

RXVIP Concierge is a growing network of Pharmacists who are poised to help people manage the rising costs of health care that impact patients’ lives. The senior management team of the company wants to empower the next generation of Pharm.D. candidates and currently licensed Pharmacists to deliver their professional services by leveraging a relationship that RXVIP has developed with NeedyMeds, the largest non-profit organization providing patient assistance programs.

RXVIP Concierge Pharmacists, will train Pharm.D. candidates and Pharmacists at any stage of their career on how to review health records and then work directly with patients. They will then be able to provide meaningful, ongoing care coordination and counseling on medications, and start their own pharmacy practice with a focus on helping patients lead healthier and longer lives.

RXVIP will not train Pharm.D. candidates to dispense prescriptions, but instead will coach students to dispense care, compassion and empathy for those needing our help most. RXVIP Cares Patient Advocates, will be able to utilize their expertise in areas of chronic care medication therapy management effectively, while providing cost saving solutions for Medicare patients with two or more chronic disease states.

The RXVIP Cares Patient Advocate program will be championed on campus at St. John's by Michelle Liang, Pharm.D. Candidate, Class of 2018, our new RXVIP Director of Student Engagement, who will lead the company's advocacy initiatives, so that future Pharm.D. candidates can be recognized as Providers.

"Pharmacists have an integral role, not only in medication management, but in helping patients find ways to pay for the medications that they need. People across the country cannot afford their prescriptions, which leads to poor adherence and declining patient outcomes." stated Michelle Liang. "When we graduate, we will be able to provide cost-saving services from NeedyMeds, along with our CCMTM chronic care medication therapy management skill set to the people who need that level of care. Knowing that there are positions available to student pharmacists with RXVIP as a Concierge Pharmacist after graduation is also very exciting.' Liang concluded.

"As a St. John's Alumni, along with others in our management team, I am committed to helping educate and mentor others in our profession. Michelle is one of the brightest stars I have ever had the pleasure of meeting so we are thrilled to have her lead this initiative" said Ken Sternfeld, Founder of RXVIP Enterprises, LTD. "She has extraordinary leadership skills plus a commitment and passion for advocacy within her profession that quite simply inspires me to be a better pharmacist," Sternfeld concluded.

The RXVIP Cares Patent Advocate Program at St. John's has officially launched as students are already providing value-based services to hundreds of patients in physician offices on Long Island. RXVIP is planning to add more chapters which will open in other colleges of pharmacy nationwide in 2017.

About RXVIP Enterprises, LTD

RXVIP Enterprises, LTD. was founded by St. John's Alumni, Ken Sternfeld, who developed a network of like-minded Concierge Pharmacists and Concierge Pharmacy Interns who are delivering a higher level of care coordination and CCMTM Chronic Care Medication Therapy Management services at the Point of Care. By collaborating with physicians, RXVIP Concierge Pharmacists are able to review health records and then work directly with patients in physician offices. With a focus on increasing adherence, a care plan is developed and reviewed monthly with ongoing consultation, counseling and follow-up outreach to all members of the patient's care team. As a result, RXVIP Concierge Pharmacists and Interns are in fact Providers as they are paid for the services they deliver outside of the retail pharmacy environment.
