Safe Card ID Now Offering ID Card Software and Badge Holders

SafeCardID.com has expanded its products and services and is introducing a new lineup of ID card software, printers, including the Evolis Printer, for advanced business personnel security.

Safe Card ID, a long-time supplier of child safety ID and fingerprinting kits, has expanded its products and services and now offers ID card software, printers and badge holders. Along with other printers, Safe Card now offers the Evolis Printer for in-house ID printing.

Safe Card ID was founded by owner, Greg Stephens in the late 1980s. His overall goal was to ensure that parents and law enforcement offers had information available to locate a missing child in the event that an unfortunate tragedy might strike. In subsequent years, however, Stephens noticed an increased need for private firms and government agencies to employ personnel identification systems to ensure the safety and security of the workplace. To that end, Stephens has announced his line of employee identification equipment, software, and supplies.

In the days following September 11, 2001, people have become increasingly aware of the need for photo ID printers and badges as a way to safeguard their employees and customers and enhance overall security. Many of today's business managers are employing photo identification methods as an extra step in protecting confidential customer information, industry trade secrets and proprietary information, and their most valuable assets - their employees. Enhanced photo ID systems are being used at an increased rate in almost every industry from schools and city halls to law firms and hospitals.

Owner Gary Stephens notes that printing identification badges in-house is one of the most cost effective ways a business can protect its customers, employees, vendors, visitors, and even its stockholders. Safety experts have concluded that photo badges work on several different levels. First, they boost awareness. IDs are a visual cue, signaling to employees whether or not an individual has clearance to view sensitive documents or has access to restricted areas on company grounds.

Recently, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners has estimated that occupational fraud (mostly in the form of theft by a business's own employees) accounts for about 6% of lost revenue across the US annually. In some cases these acts of theft and embezzlement could have been thwarted by ID badges that clearly indicate an employee's clearance level and double as door keys.

When traditional ID badges are supplemented with magnetic strip encoding, they can be used with coded door locks and employee time clocks for enhanced security and monitoring. In the event of fraudulent activity, an employee's time record can be accessed to determine when he or she was last on the premises and what areas were accessed at the time.

Safe Card ID's newest line of products is not limited to printers and badge holders. They have ID card software for printers, single and dual sided card printers, as well as laminated badge printers. Additional security features are available on some models.
