Sainik School Korukonda Alumni Celebrate Golden Jubilee Of Their School

Online, July 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Trees - are the green guards of Mother Earth. Saikorians (alumni of Sainik School Korukonda, Vijayanagaram, AP) adopted Tree Plantation as part of their Golden Jubilee Celebrations (1962-2012). They plan to conduct several drives across the state, through next year, demonstrating their School Motto - "Ever Loyal". Saikorians demonstrate their loyalty to the country - mother India - by serving in armed forces in OG, and any organization they are part of.

On the day of AP Vana Mahotsav 2011, July 9, Saikorians planted -

a) in Hyderabad - at Gowdavalli Panchayat, Atomic Energy School, Bolton School, and Phoenix Greens International School

b) in Guntur - Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, Nagarjuna University, KKR & KSR Institute of Technology and Sciences, Chebrolu Engineering College

c) in Korukonda - Sainik School Korukonda

General K R Rao, senior Saikorian, planted in Gowdavalli Panchayat, leading the charge on this Plantation drive, setting an example for more similar initiatives to come in future.

Sainik School Korukonda, one of 22 Schools in India, produced 40+% of officers into Indian Armed Forces from Andhra Pradesh.

Saikorians are climbing into higher echelons, in Army - Lt. General (retd) K R Rao, Lt. General K Surendra Nath, TWO Major Generals, TWENTY Brigadiers; in Navy - Rear Admiral T Sudhakar, Rear Admiral LVS Babu, and SIX Commodores; in Air Force - SIX Air Commodores.

Outside Armed Forces, Saikorians continue to serve the society in many key leadership positions, as RBI Governor D V Subba Rao and many other IAS, IPS, IFS officers; MLAs, Entrepreneurs, Doctors, Engineers and Advocates, including a world record holder in Mountaineering (Malli Mastan Babu).
