Online, June 7, 2010 (Newswire.com) - SPRING HILL, FL - JUNE 7, 2010 - Dr. B. Tim Lowder, Assistant Professor of Management at Saint Leo University, has been appointed to the Hernando County Original District Founder (ODF) board for AmeriCare Today (also known as ACT) -- a non-political grass roots movement, promoting a comprehensive, community based solution addressing the financial issues surrounding the future of Social Security in America.
The Original District Founder (ODF) board, which Dr. Lowder will serving on in Hernando County, Florida, is the first of numerous such boards established on a local level in each state across the country by AmeriCareToday. The purpose of these ODF boards will be to provide Main Street oversight of government's daily affairs, to ensure accountability for their actions on behalf of taxpayers. Additionally, any issues that adversely affect Hernando county residents are of interest to the board. Each state will have three levels of ODF boards: one representing the county and/or parish; one for each Congressional District; and one on the state level. There are a limited number of appointed members to each of these boards and thus, the "makeup" of these boards requires diverse qualifications. In essence, these boards will feature persons from all socio-economic-ethnic-cultural backgrounds in keeping with America's diverse population.
Dr. Lowder is a Licensed Accounting Practitioner, a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a Certified Business Manager, a Certified E-Commerce Consultant, a Registered Financial Specialist, a Chartered Asset Manager, and a Notary Public. He serves on Saint Leo University's Faculty Senate and the President's Strategic Planning Committee for both Technology and Student Services. Dr. Lowder's expertise includes the areas of accounting, finance, e-commerce, small business management, and strategic planning, and has taught many courses in these disciplines.
"Obviously, given Dr. Lowder's varied and distinguished expertise in business and finance and his exceptional credentials, we are extremely pleased to have him as a member of our Hernando County ODF," stated AmeriCareToday CEO Jim Gries, in making the announcement. "He is not only going to be a wonderful asset from the 'get go' on the board, but equally important to our cause as an overall advisor to our entire ACT organization, as we move forward."
