Samsung Releases Onvelop On Samsung Apps For Its Enterprise Customers In An Exclusive Deal With AgreeYa Mobility For Android Devices
Online, November 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Samsung Electronics and AgreeYa Mobility have announced the launch of Onvelop, a unified collaboration and communication platform. Onvelop enables enterprises to connect with Microsoft SharePoint and Lync/OCS by integrating the two on mobile devices with a patented and unique user experience. Onvelop also enables other enterprise use cases like print and remote desktop for enterprise users. Onvelop is the result of effort to enhance the enterprise mobility by Samsung and AgreeYa Mobility on Android platform. Onvelop is based on licensed protocols from Microsoft as the result of the interoperability partnership of AgreeYa Mobility and Microsoft announced last November. The Android tablet version of the Onvelop Client will be exclusively available via Samsung Apps for download to Samsung devices, including the Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) or later. In addition to the current portfolio of tablets, Samsung plans to release a fully smartphone compatible download.
Onvelop brings enterprise mobility to business consumers by providing a platform that integrates real time enterprise updates via feeds for activities, announcements, and events on the mobile device. Users can review documents, create events and announcements, chat, call via Lync/OCS, have a document review meeting online - via chat or call conferencing, checkout documents from SharePoint, make updates to it, and check it back to SharePoint so that updates become available to other enterprise users in the same network, all from the mobile device.
Onvelop Platform allays the fear of data security and control, which are major concern for CIOs. Onvelop platform handles data security, data encryption, Active Directory and Single Sign On the mobile devices. It even provides a dashboard to enterprise admin for control of enterprise data on the Onvelop Platform.
"A large percentage of enterprises use Microsoft SharePoint and Lync for their internal collaboration and communication", said Krish Kupathil, CEO of AgreeYa Mobility. "Onvelop will extend the usage of these tools by providing a unified collaboration and communication user experience with robust security on Samsung's Android based mobile devices."
"True enterprise mobility isn't just about making business apps accessible through mobile devices. It is about extending the full power of collaboration and communication to the end-user, while allowing the IT department to maintain the control and security that they need," said Injong Rhee, senior vice president, head of enterprise engineering and technology strategy group, Samsung. "The partnership with AgreeYa Mobility is an important step in extending real business benefits to the Android platform and in making Samsung the BYOD choice for both end-users and the business."
