Samsung UE32F6400 3D TV Review

The UE32F6400 is one of the latest Samsung 3D TV sets to be released, although the lack of free 3D glasses means that many reviews have ignored its three dimensional capabilities. Costing less than £450 for those that shop around, it is a mid-budget 32 inch TV but it offers decent quality, good build quality, and only a few minor hiccups that ensure it is worth the money for those that want an attractive and functional TV. It offers access to most catch up TV services too.

The modern TV is more than a simple TV set and most consumers will use their TVs for watching digital TV, playing console games, viewing 3D sources, and even accessing the Internet. The Smart TV is in virtually every household and just when consumers think that they have the very latest that a Samsung LED TV has to offer, along comes some new "must have" feature. For those that are more concerned with the look of the TV and the quality of the picture, though, the UE32F6400 could be the ideal option.

There are some areas of disappointment with this 32 inch TV. The HDMI sockets are close to the edge of the set and this means that plugging the likes of an Apple TV box into the back of the set will leave visible cables. In a world where cables are usually tidied away or non-existent this is a little disappointing. Overall, though, the build quality and functionality of the set is such that this is only really a minor gripe.

Picture quality of what is a relatively cheap 3D TV is good. It is difficult to consider the 6 series a true 3D TV because of its lack of free glasses but, in terms of 2D quality, it is very difficult to find much better in this kind of price bracket. The Panasonic may offer slightly better colour saturation but, all in all, it would be difficult to pick a winner between the two.

The Korean manufacturer has taken the intelligent step of adding access to all of the major terrestrial catch up channels so that buyers can enjoy quick and easy access to the likes of BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, and 4OD. Buffering can take some time, especially if you want to watch in HD, but this is another area where the UE32F6400 stands out as being a promising TV set. Audio is also very high quality and this offers yet more appeal to TV viewers and console gamers alike.

When looking for a Smart TV, most consumers will be looking for easy access to catch up services and streaming services and this is one area where the Samsung 3D TV really excels. With all of the terrestrial channels on board and offering their catch up services it negates the need to get fiddly with additional boxes, although there is still the ability to easily plug in the likes of an Apple TV to the set and further increase the range of viewing options available.
