San Antonio Hosts Ceramic Art & Collectible event.

Date: February 26, 27 & 28, 2010 Venue: HYATT PLACE on the River Walk, 601 South St Mary's Street, San Antonio, Texas 78205 FREE ADMISSION Friday 6-8pm preview, Saturday 9am to 5pm & Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Ceramic art and collectibles from England and South Africa will be on display at the Hyatt Place hotel from February 26-28. This touring exhibition of Royal Doulton, Moorcroft and Ardmore ceramic art is presented by Pascoe and Company of Florida, specialists in antiques and collectibles for the last 40 years. Everything is for sale and collectors will discover some of the finest examples of ceramic art from the early 1800s to the present day.

Show promoter Ed Pascoe says: "This special exhibition allows collectors to handle coveted antique vases and figurines and share their collecting passions with others. You can't do any of that on the internet! Let's revive the romance of collecting. Leave your keyboards and screens for the weekend and come to our San Antonio show."

Collectors will enjoy the free weekend lectures presented by British expert Louise Irvine, who is flying over from London, England especially for this event. Louise has written many books about Royal Doulton art pottery and figurines and will showcase some of the rare pieces presented at this weekend event. Louise will also talk about Moorcroft art pottery which has been hand-made in Stoke-on-Trent, England since 1897 and is avidly collected around the world. Fans of art pottery will be excited to see the new Moorcroft collection for 2010, which will be presented at this show.

A new feature of the Pascoe and Company road-show events is Ardmore Ceramic Art, which is made by Zulu artists in South Africa. Founded 25 years ago by potter Fee Halsted-Berning, Ardmore makes exuberant ceramic art, which is modeled and hand-painted in KwaZulu-Natal. Since 1985, Fee has mentored hundreds of talented local people and encouraged them to express themselves in clay. Their unique work has been exhibited in art galleries all over South Africa and Europe and last year an Ardmore masterpiece made a world record of $22,000 at auction. American collectors are now being enchanted by Ardmore ceramic art, thanks to Pascoe and Company. The sale of each unique piece helps to uplift the local community in KwaZulu-Natal, which has been greatly afflicted by the AIDS pandemic. Texas art collectors can help to make a difference by purchasing a piece of Ardmore at the San Antonio event.

During the weekend, local collectors George and Ann Berg will host a private reception at their home and they will be attending the weekend event to talk about their fascination for British, American and South African art pottery.
