San Diego Thunder starts the 2010 season

San San Diego Thunder is an adult semipro football team that has been together since 2004.

The San Diego Thunder Semipro Developmental Football Team is starting the 2010 season with style, finesse, and class. Last year in 2009, the Thunder ended the year with a 8-5 overall record and a 7-5 league record. The San Diego Thunder is a part of the UFAL (United Football Alliance League). The Thunder start the 2010 season with the 1st annual Friendship Classic Football Game 6pm at the historic Balboa Stadium, the home of the 1960 San Diego Chargers. Our first opponent is the Las Vegas Buccaneers, the the 2009 Wild West Football League Champions. Derrick Johnson, Owner of the San Diego explains that "This is the NEW and IMPROVED San Diego Thunder!" "There will be NO room for failure which means there will be NO bickering and arguing on the sidelines, They MUST attend practices, They must participate in community events, and they must act, be, and think professional." The San Diego Thunder has won the La Belle Community Football Championship over the Inglewood Blackhawks 34-14 at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California. In 2007, the Thunder defeated the Central Coast Grizzlies 40-0. In 2006 they won the Southwest Football League Championship over the California Tide 14-0. In 2005, they defeated the California Outlawz 31-13. Back in 2004 they were the Southeast Raiders under the tenure of Derrick Johnson. The Raiders finished 5-4 in the Southwest League South Division taking second place. In 2003 the Southeast Raiders finished the season with a record of 8-2 and a first place finish in the California Football Association with 2-0 loss to the Inglewood Blackhawks because in the 4th quarter with 12:00 left in the 4th quarter, the stadium lights went out at Junior Seau Stadium located in La Mesa California. "That was really weird" says Johnny Richardson Director of Promotions, "I didn't understand that, but it happened." Derrick Johnson owner of the Thunder got into it with Tony Reid owner of the Inglewood Blackhawks. The CFA officials voted that the Blackhawks will move on to the Championship in Long Beach against the San Gabriel Valley Rhinos and won 26-20 in overtime. In 2002 the Southeast Raiders were started. in that year, the Raiders ended the season with their first losing season in the CFA at 0-8 in the league and 0-10 overall. But that is just what it is, History! But now we are ready to get the 2010 season with the Friendship Classic March 13th 6pm at the historic Balboa Stadium. The players are fired up for this season. They tryouts are over, now let's get out there and show our opponents what we are made of!
