San Francisco Chamber Orchestra Announces Season Sponsor, Medallia, and Launch of New Website

The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra and Medallia have joined forces, ensuring that top-quality, live classical music is open to all by providing admission-free concerts in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, San Mateo, and Palo Alto. Access to the arts has become increasingly prohibitive to communities on a large scale, and limiting that access reduces the richness of people's lives. The collaboration between Medallia, pioneer and market leader in Experience Management cloud solutions, and the SFCO, promises a connection with both the classically passionate and the classically curious.

Since its founding in 1953, the SFCO has been providing top-quality, professional, admission-free classical music to Bay Area communities. Led for the past 17 seasons by dynamic music director Benjamin Simon, the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra is a tightly-knit ensemble comprised of the best musicians in the Bay Area. Combining excellence with accessibility, its full season of over 36 performances is admission-free, presenting classical, contemporary, and commissioned works to audiences of all ages and backgrounds around the Bay Area.

As a global company with origins in the Bay Area, Medallia is committed to investing in its local communities. In combination with its customers, Medallia builds the best brands through understanding and analyzing customer, employee and citizen experiences. The company is partnering with SFCO to provide admission-free music for Bay Area audiences and share enriching music with its customers and employees.

From Hanna Tikkanen Merk, President of the SFCO Board: "We are excited to have Medallia sponsor this season's concerts to bring world-class experiences to our audiences. The partnership between Medallia and the SFCO enable us to connect with music lovers all around the Bay Area, introducing them to the wondrous world of classical music."

In conjunction with the Medallia Season Sponsorship, the SFCO has launched a revamped website to emphasize its commitment to accessible live music for all ages. The orchestra's 2019-2020 MainStage season includes an in-depth guided musical tour of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in October; an all-Mozart program featuring an incredible Bay Area rising talent, 11-year old violinist Amaryn Olmeda in December; the launch of a new, podcast-style format with Classical with a Twist in February; and the world-premiere of a new work by SFCO's BMI Foundation Composer-in-Residence, Michael Gilbertson, in collaboration with the award-winning vocalists of the Volti Ensemble in April 2020. For younger listeners, the orchestra presents over 25 performances within its Family Concert and Very First Concert series. The Classical at the Freight series brings top-quality chamber music to the intimate, informal Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley.
