San Jose to Host Global Mobile Internet Conference's U.S. Debut

Global Mobile Internet Conference Expected to Generate 5,000 visitors to San Jose

Team San Jose, the Convention Center and Cultural Facilities manager as well as the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau, today announced Global Mobile Internet Conference's (GMIC SV) U.S. debut at the San Jose Convention Center on October 19-20, 2012.

Global Mobile Internet Conference will bring together mobile leaders, investors and developers from more than 20 countries to discuss shifts, challenges and opportunities across the world's mobile markets. The conference, themed "Connecting Global Innovators," will focus on four areas: Future of Mobile & Innovation, Global Markets, Start-up Ecosystem and App Economy (monetization).

"San Jose leads the nation in patent generation and its companies are world-famous for technological innovation and as a result, San Jose is a perfect location to host the first-ever U.S. show to bring together influential and visionary experts in the mobile space," said Bill Sherry, CEO of Team San Jose. "As the Capital of Silicon Valley, GMIC SV attendees will not only be inspired by Silicon Valley technology corporations and their stamp on future technological advances, but they'll enjoy San Jose's walkable Downtown -- filled with diverse cultural attractions -- and central access to Northern California beaches and wine country."

With more than 5,000 attendees, 600 hotel room nights booked, visitor spending on food, beverage, lodging, shopping, sightseeing and local transit is expected to generate an estimated $430,000 in visitor's spending for the City of San Jose.

"San Jose has become a center of technology and innovation, and we're thrilled that our inaugural U.S. event will be taking place in the heart of the city," said Barrett Parkman, Co-Producer of GMIC SV. "San Jose is a destination full of offerings and we're convinced that the city will deliver an exceptional visitor experience for our attendees and visitors."

Key industry speakers include keynotes from the CEOs of DST Global, Evernote, Box, Tapjoy, Glu Mobile, Electronic Arts, Xiaomi and UCWeb, and VP's from Google and Facebook.

Sponsors of GMIC SV include Sina, UCWeb, Tapjoy, Wondershare, Admob, Northern Light Venture Capital, Domob, Yolu, Bitcellar, and Tencent.
