SandStar, the earliest AI technology company to focus on unmanned retail solutions, recently received the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification from the British Standards Institution (BSI), to become an AI company certified to an international standard.

This indicates that, for SandStar, a technology company with a portfolio of AI vending machines, AI store analytics solutions, and AI unmanned stores, its information security management system has met the international standard, and it is able to provide securer and more reliable services and solutions for customers. The certification also shows that the company is strict on itself in practice to ensure information security.

ISO/IEC 27001 is one of the international standards jointly issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Only when a company meets all the requirements of the standard, can it be certified by BSI, a leading third-party certification organization. Established in 1901, BSI is the world's first national standardization organization and a founding member of both the ISO and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). BSI operates in 193 countries and multiple areas. It was instrumental in the development of the globally famous ISO 9000 series of standards on quality management.

Since it was founded in 2016, SandStar has been formulating its corporate and product strategies with an international vision. In 2020, SandStar became a Microsoft IP Co-Sell Partner and an IntelĀ® IoT Market Ready Solutions (Intel IMRS) partner. As of the end of 2020, the company's AI vending machines, AI store analytics solutions and AI unmanned stores, known for being able to help customers reduce costs and increase efficiency, had been deployed in 12 countries and regions across the globe and had helped to boost the retail operations of 20+ Fortune 500 companies including Coca-Cola, Sinopec, and Wanda.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for contactless shopping and senseless payment in the overseas markets has been growing. As such, the "grab and go" shopping experience of SandStar's AI vending machines is becoming increasingly hot. According to the statistics on the website of SandStar, among the messages left by customers on the website during the second half of 2020, those from overseas customers were setting new records again and again. This shows that the company's consistent strategy of developing overseas markets works. The company's products are hot also because they can provide extremely valuable business intelligence. For retailers, SandStar's AI vending machines not only can provide a safe and convenient shopping experience amid the pandemic, but also can leverage their digital DNA to provide data support for them when it comes to merchandising and restocking strategies, so as to help them optimize operations, reduce costs and increase efficiency.

In the future, SandStar will continue to focus on product upgrading and development, to bring more efficient technologies and solutions to retail settings, to empower the industry and make a difference in the world.
