Santa Claus Announces Extended Christmas Delivery
Christmas will be spread across two days in 2013 due to increased demand.
Online, December 20, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Due to an increase in seasonal deliveries, Santa Claus will be making deliveries on both December 24 and December in 2013, according to a statement issued by Santa Claus, Inc. (SCI)
"Santa's workload has quintupled in the last thirty years," said Holly Berry, a spokes-elf for the legendary Christmas figure, "but he's still the leading and only name in the Christmas delivery field, and children everywhere are counting on him. So we've made the tough decision to spread his deliveries across two nights.
"We're focusing on homes where children might not be present on the evening of the 24th, and we wanted to let everyone know ahead of time, so that there won't be any disappointed children. Santa will still bring each child's full assortment of toys; it just might be the next day."
Affected areas include portions of North and South America, Australia, and inhabited areas in the Pacific Ocean and Micronesia. Due to the number of homes affected, SCI says that it cannot provide individual notices to the homes where delayed deliveries will take place, but the company confirmed its intention to meet its existing obligations to all Christmas celebrants in the U.S. and abroad.
"Christmas is still coming," said Berry, "and Santa will be getting a fully updated report on the evening of the 25th before he starts his second run,. So the boys and girls out there will need to make sure to stay on the Nice List and get to bed early, if they want to receive their presents."
