SaportaReport Adds New Local Columnist

Saba Long will join SaportaReport with a column focusing on issues facing metro Atlanta and highlighting local leaders.

Saba Long, a communications and political professional in downtown Atlanta, will join SaportaReport with a political and business column.

Long will cover a variety of political, business and civic issues in metro Atlanta, including transportation, homelessness, technology, environment and growth. Her column will also include interviews with aspiring and established leaders in metro Atlanta. The addition of Long brings the perspective of a young, hands-on communications and political professional in Atlanta to SaportaReport.

"I am thrilled to join SaportaReport and ready to add to the conversations it's creating across metro Atlanta," said Long.

Long currently serves as the Senior Council Aide and Communications Liaison for Post 2 At-Large Atlanta City Councilman Aaron Watson. Recently, she served as Press Secretary for MAVEN and Untie Atlanta, the education and advocacy campaigns in support of the Atlanta Regional Transportation Referendum. Other experience includes leadership of strategic and new media contributions to metro political campaigns and organizations.

"Saba has a wonderful spirit and unique perspective about Atlanta and the community at large," said Maria Saporta, founder and editor-in-chief at SaportaReport. "She offers SaportaReport and our readers a fresh new voice, making her a perfect fit for our team. We are delighted she will be joining our team."

Long is active in the community serving as board secretary for NPU-M and has previously served on the
board for Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association. She volunteers with Atlanta BeltLine and is Managing Director of the newly created political arm of the Truman National Security Project (TNSP) that focuses on the southern region of the United States.
