He has been rigorously trained for the past 25 years in India and the US under the late Amiya Dasgupta, Rajeev Taranath and the living legend Pandit Ravi Shankar. Paul has performed and taught Indian classical and ragajazz music around the US, Mexico, Europe & South Asia and has just returned from a major concert tour in Nepal, India, Czech & Germany.
Pandit Shashanka Bakshi trained under celebrated table maestros Pt. Kanai Dutta and Pt. Samta Prasad and has toured extensively world-wide. He has accompanied such celebrated artists as Pt. Ravi Shankar, Pt. Nikhil Banerjee, Ustad Bahadur Khan, Ustad Imrat Khan, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt. Buddhadev Dasgupta, Pt. V.G. Jog, Pt. Daya Shankar, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Tarun Bhattacharya and has played throughout India in major music festivals. Shashanka has also taught tabla to numerous dedicated students in India and the United States for several decades. His illustrious performances, intensive training and dedication have established a revered position for him in the lineage of Indian classical musicians.
Sarangi artist Pankaj Mishra was born into a lineage of exceptional musicians, being the son of Sri Satyanarayan Mishra, grandson of Pt. Mahadeo Prasad Mishra, and great-grandson of sarangi virtuoso Pt. Saraju Prasad Mishra. He was trained from an early age by the renowned sarangi player Pt. Mahesh Prasad Mishra of the Benaras Gharana. He is a highly regarded accompanist, performing with such renowned artists as Pt. Shymal Bose, Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri, Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, Pt. Sankha Chatterjee, Pt. Kumar Bose, Ustad Sabir Khan, Subhankar Banerjee, and Bikram Ghosh. His dance recital performances with kathak exponent Pt. Birju Maharaj, Pt. Rammohon Maharaj, Pt. Krishna Mohan Maharaj, and Pt. Vijay Shankar have been widely acclaimed. Pankaj performs music for Film and Television Serials (Hindi-Bengali) and has recorded several CDs with vocalist Smt. Purnima Chowdhury, Pakhawaj artist Biplab Mondol and Tabla players Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, Pt. Sankha Chatterjee, Ustad Sabir Khan and many others.
