ScanData Achieves USPS e-VS Certification
Online, September 25, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Austin, TX (ScanData Systems, Inc.) September 28, 2009 - ScanData Systems, Inc. has achieved e-VS certification from the United States Postal Service. One of only five companies nationwide to meet this goal, ScanData can ensure seamless implementation of USPS shipping capabilities for high-volume parcel shippers.
ScanData's shipping systems cover every aspect of parcel transportation management in order to facilitate, control, and manage a distribution center's shipping and manifesting needs. ScanData specializes in high-volume parcel shipping solutions allowing clients like CVS, QVC, or Victoria's Secret to ship hundreds of thousands of packages a day to consumers through virtually any parcel carrier. A key component in this process is certification with carriers like the United States Postal Service.
The Electronic Verification System, or "e-VS," is an innovation by the USPS that allows shippers to document and pay postage via electronic transmission of manifest files. According the USPS, the primary benefit is "to make it easy for high-volume package mailers to take advantage of destination entry rates." Ultimately, e-VS eliminates the need for postage statements, adjustment worksheets, and paper manifests, thus simplifying the process and conserving a significant amount of time, money, and resources.
After a rigorous evaluation process, ScanData is now one of only five companies in the country awarded e-VS certification by the USPS. This, along with their USPS MAC certification, streamlines implementation of USPS shipping, eliminating weeks of rate case submissions and approvals by the USPS. It is also to be noted that this certification will optimize UPS Mail Innovations and FedEx Smart Post shipping capabilities.
