Scholarship Fund for High School Seniors Established by Local Real Estate Agency as a Way to Help the Community

eHomes, a local real estate agency gave local high schools the chance to take advantage of its scholarship where a students will receive a total of $1,000 to pursue college education.

The following are the schools that encourage students to apply for the said scholarship: Laguna Hills High School, Capistrano Valley Christian High School, St. Margaret's Episcopal School, Tesoro High School, San Juan Hills High School, San Clemente High School, Dana Hills High School, Capistrano Valley High School and Aliso Niguel High School.

All of the aforementioned contracted schools have agreed either to post the scholarship on their website, endorse it in the guidance office, add it to the scholarship listing, or inform the students' families about the scholarship via newsletter.

"I will put it in the Senior Scoop Newsletter and post flyers around campus", Bonnie Borden from Dana Hills High School said.

To qualify for the said scholarship, students need to be a citizen of the United States or permanent resident, be a resident of Saddleback or Capistrano school districts, have obtained a minimum grade point average of 2 on a scale of 4 and be a senior high school who is directly going to a post-secondary school.

The student who is interested to avail the scholarship is also required to write an essay using this prompt:
• Concisely describe the things that motivate you for pursuing college education.
• Talk about your scholastic record (grades/merit).
• Expound your chosen career path and justify.
• Include how long-term goals, interests, people, past experiences, and other factors have contributed to your goal of pursuing college education.
• Explain your financial needs.

The lucky winner will be chosen on the 30th of June, 2013 based on the student's aspiration to succeed in college and on his/her completed application.
