School Sucks is celebrating its 15 year anniversary this week. On May 17, 1996, School Sucks founder Kenny Sahr launched the Internet's first free homework and termpaper web site. Word quickly spread and within months School Sucks was bringing in thousands of visitors a day.

15 years later, School Sucks finds itself in the unique position of being one of the few dot-com's from the first wave of the commercial Internet to still be around and doing the same thing.

"School Sucks started off as a caricature of the rest of that crazy 90's Internet scene," says founder Kenny Sahr. "The other dot-com's had big offices, too many employees and all sorts of outlandish perks. We were three guys who had trouble waking up before noon. We had meetings at the beach."

Tens of millions of homework assignments have been downloaded from School Sucks since the summer of 1996. Kenny Sahr was 24 years old at the time. Every day tens of thousands of students around the world visit School Sucks. The site has been featured on 60 Minutes, Time Magazine, New York Times and throughout the media.

School Sucks is not about plagiarism, it is a study aid. "Students visit School Sucks when they are confused with material that they learned at school. The site lets them read the work of their peers. It may not be 100% accurate, but it gives them a better feel for complicated topics. Learning isn't easy, and we're doing our part to break down barriers in education. Teachers use School Sucks for editing exercises. It's not hard to find essays that need editing on School Sucks!"

"My biggest fear is to wake up one day and see a newspaper headline that reads, 'Congress Abolishes Homework'. Until that happens, School Sucks will never become obsolete."
