SEA Announces General Availability of TRMS View and SAVRS View
GARDEN CITY, N.Y., April 17, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Software Engineering of America, a leading vendor of IBM Z and IBM i solutions, announces the release of TRMS View and SAVRS View, innovative tools that allow businesses to organize and transfer archived reports and system logs off of the mainframe to a Windows server and access them quickly via a RESTful web user interface.
Governance, audit, legal and business operational requirements dictate that reporting output from Z Batch processing must be maintained in a highly reliable and accessible format for years, even decades, after generation on a mainframe system. The same can be said for mainframe system logs, where accurate, accessible history is required in support of audit and security management needs.
In the past, these archived reports and logs were kept on a mainframe. However, companies migrating off of the mainframe, or looking for an alternative repository for historical records, are often left with few options, often in a time-critical window.
“Companies looking for an off-mainframe solution for archives are faced with the daunting task of migrating to expensive distributed report and log management solutions when their goal is to create an accessible and reliable archive repository for historical mainframe records. TRMS View and SAVRS View provide a much simpler and reliable path to accelerated migration of mainframe reports and system logs. Further, many companies faced with the retiring ‘mainframe generation’ are dealing with a shortage of knowledgeable mainframe practitioners to assist with a migration process that leaves no room for lack of confidence in success,” says Jatin Thakker, SEA’s Chief Operating Officer.
TRMS View and SAVRS View offer immediate access to archives and the ability to filter and sort by customizable catalogs. Users don’t have to manually sift through what can sometimes be millions of reports or logs representing years, even decades, of business-critical content. The web UI for both products allows users to search and access important data on the go, from a laptop, tablet or even smartphone, providing a responsive display that readjusts to any screen size. Both products use Active Directory for login, enabling only the properly-authorized Windows Domain User IDs to access any sensitive records.
With the purchase of these tools, SEA provides no-charge migration services that guarantee accelerated delivery, while taking the anxiety out of potential concerns related to accurate storage, management and ongoing access to this critical information, without anything but the highest level of confidence.
