Secure Wireless and Wired 802.1X Networks Made Easy Using Avenda Systems' Quick1X

Customers leveraging cloud-based endpoint configuration tool that works with today's latest Windows, Mac, and Linux-based devices

Avenda Systems, the innovation leader in identity-based network access security, today announced that its eTIPS Quick1X configuration tool is helping customers ease the configuration requirements and deployment of secure 802.1X networks.

Configuration headaches and lack of integration support of devices have hampered the widespread growth of 802.1X security. Avenda's cloud-based Quick1X configuration tool allows IT organizations of any size to easily streamline how users configure required network settings on their laptops and other mobile devices.

With growing concerns to further secure campus and enterprise wireless networks, Quick1X provides an easy way for IT departments to manage the deployment of WPA2 and 802.1X protected networks. The ability to provide a web portal to distribute the Quick1X wizard through removable media allows users to pre-configure their devices prior to connecting to 802.1X-capable networks, which saves time and minimizes helpdesk calls. Users simply click on a "Start Here" button to complete a short installation and network connection procedure.

"The move to an automated configuration tool this summer really helped our first-time and transfer students to connect easily to our Meru 802.1X secure wireless network," said Roche TerBlanche, Director of Networks and Technology Support at Colorado Christian University. "Wherever possible, our goal at CCU is to leverage innovative technologies such as Quick1X to enhance our students' online experience, while protecting our campus networks and saving money."

Avenda Quick1X offers support for Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP with Service Pack 3, Apple Mac OS X, Mac iOS (iPhone and iPad), and popular Linux platforms. Quick1X is sold as an application for use with Avenda's eTIPS authentication and authorization platform, or as a standalone application that can be used in any 802.1X environment.

Quick1X benefits include:
• No recurring yearly license fees
• Cloud-based updates and management capabilities
• Point and Click configuration

"Quick1X helps solve problems that IT teams have encountered in the past when asking users to change network security variables on their computing devices," said Trent Fierro, Director of Marketing at Avenda Systems. "Customer feedback confirms that we help them meet the goal of delivering an easy way for users to connect to an 802.1X network regardless if the device is owned by the user or the organization."
