Seminar in INCOTERMS 2010
Online, February 21, 2011 (Newswire.com) - A new set of rules on INCOTERMS (International Commercial Terms) has been released by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in September 2010 and has been effective since January 2011. INCOTERMS are shipping terms used for land, air and sea in all trade transactions. These terms and will have a huge impact on trade documentation and will have critical implications for exporters, importers, traders, bankers, insurers, or those involved in carriers and freight forwarding. Individuals and agencies involved need to be aware of these changes since the new INCOTERMS will be implemented globally.
In line with these changes, the Center for Global Best Practices, in association with the ICC-World Business Organization, will hold two sets of seminars entitled "INCOTERMS 2010. The first schedule would be at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Manila on March 23, 2011 and the other one would be at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu on March 25, 2011.
The scope of the seminar includes the carriage of goods between seller & buyer, the export and import clearance requirements, the allocation of costs between seller & buyer, the acquisition of cargo insurance, and the assumption of risks for loss and damage.
Understanding the new rules and incorporating their use in sales contracts will save participants from uncertainties, errors, and costly mistakes in the interpretations created in a trade transaction.
