Semper Software Sponsors Team in the Amsterdam-Dakar Challenge for Charity

Online, June 30, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Semper Software, the leader in Windows and Linux software continuity, will be supporting a team in the upcoming 2011 Amsterdam-Dakar Challenge for Charity. The goal of this rally, which covers more than 7,200 kilometers through endless, dusty deserts, is to raise as much money as possible for charity.

The Amsterdam Dakar Challenge for Charity is a fully self-supporting rally - i.e. no service trucks, helicopters or aid stations - starting on November 5th 2011. The 7,200 kilometers need to be completed within 24 days. A further challenge is that the value of the participating vehicles is not allowed to exceed € 500,-. After finishing in Dakar, the teams will enjoy a rest day before driving on to Gambia where all the participating cars will be sold at auction. All the money raised will be donated to a pre-selected charity project.
