Serial Cables Introduces the Industry's First PCIe/NVMe Gen4 Active/Passive JBOFs
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., December 16, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Serial Cables, a Colorado-based high-speed storage and interconnect company, is attempting to gain a foothold in the emerging PCIe/NVMe Gen4 storage industry.
This newest release gives the user the flexibility to have either a direct-attach setup with the Passive JBOF or a managed setup via the Broadcom B0 Atlas switch inside the Active JBOF, as well as provide options for both U.2 and U.3 devices. The Active enclosure also allows for the switch to be configured as 1x16, 2x8, 4x4 or all dual-port devices in 2x2. This is all possible through the use of a simple-to-use CLI, allowing the user to easily integrate this enclosure into their automated test environment.
Of course, an enclosure isn’t complete without a host, so Serial Cables is also introducing their PCIe/NVMe Gen4 Host Card, powered by the Broadcom Atlas B0 chipset as well. The host card comes in both External HD MiniSAS (SFF-8644) or SlimSAS (SFF-8654) configurations. This new generation of host cards fully supports hot-plug and hot-add devices as well as Dynamic Port Resolution (DPR), eliminating the need to reconfigure the host to accommodate 1x16, 2x8, 4x4 or 8x2 configurations.
As always, Serial Cables carries all the cables, adapters and interconnects to complete any PCIe/NVMe setup available. Take a look at their Gen4 U.2 to M.2 Adapter, a best seller!
