Seven New Lincoln Vehicles Will Be Available by 2014

Online, June 26, 2012 (Newswire.com) - With a major new investment in product, Lincoln is promising seven new vehicles to be released by the year 2014. Their goal is to move in the direction of smaller, less ostentation premium luxury vehicles with this new move.

The first of the seven new vehicles is the MKX. Released this year, this five-passenger crossover is not expected to go anywhere any time soon.

The MKZ, a mechanical twin to the Ford Fusion, will be the Hybrid model released in 2013. This hybrid will be based on the common Ford Fusion and Mondeo platform, but with much more Lincoln differentiation.

A new town car is in the works for Lincoln. After Ford closes its Canadian assembly factory late next year, Ford's rival town car will most likely be dead, making this Lincoln model one without many competitors.

A new Navigator is set to be released in 2013 or 2014. This big seven-passenger SUV will be a heavily revised version of the current Navigator model. Aside from styling updates, the new Navigator and Navigator L are expected to feature new V8 engines.
The MKS, a Lincoln new in 2009, is expected t o get a new MyLincoln touch system in 2012. This four-door sedan will also get a slight refresh and hit the market later this year.

Although the final two vehicles have not been released, their product plans have been hinted at prior auto shows. The first includes a premium small call that will compete in the Lexus IS and Cadillac ATS class. While this four-door sedan will fit perfectly in the Lincoln lineup, some Lincoln executives are considering a hatchback body style instead.

The final vehicle that is expected to be released is a premium small crossover. Lincoln has the mid-size and large crossover class handled, so it makes sense that a small crossover would be next.
