Online, June 5, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Stephana Johnson, a women's empowerment coach and abuse specialist is bringing her television series "Healthy Healing Laboratory" to summer programming on Portland TVCTV channels 11 and 22.
The shows will focus on skills and strategies to overcome past trauma and helping others find ways to create joy, love and success in their lives now and in the future, according to Johnson, who said, "I work with people who need help healing from past traumas."
Johnson developed her expertise for more than 20 years, but didn't specialize in healing sexual trauma until she started her own journey of healing. "I was sexually abused when I was a child and for years I kept it hidden inside me," she said. "I realized that it was affecting everything -- my job, my relationships, my self-confidence." She went to New York City to pursue an acting career at age 16 and became an apprentice to a personal fitness trainer for celebrities, while also studying to become a minister. "I spent 17 years honing my skills as a master professional trainer, holistic nutritionist and spiritual counselor," she said. "I've done thousands of hours of volunteer counseling. My father was a minister and I followed in his footsteps."
At age 21 Johnson became an ordained minister and counseled for a religious organization and later became a volunteer counselor for the 5,000-member Houston Police Department, where she acted as chaplain to non-denominational and non-religious police officers and firefighters.
Beginning this summer her "Healthy Healing Laboratory" will air locally in Portland with days and times to be announced. Past episodes also will be available at her website StephanaJohnson.com.
Johnson also features monthly webinar series on her Internet site. In May's webinars on "Boundaries and Forgiveness" she partnered with Feng Shui expert Monica Castaneda from fengshuiforus.com. They pointed out examples from their lives and client scenarios where real changes can be made.
"Forgiveness is more subjective than forgive, forget and move on," Johnson said. "Forgiveness is about finding inner peace and establishing boundaries." In the webinar Castaneda walked participants through their homes and showed them things they don't realize are blocking their energy and how to change them.
"Forgiveness is not taking away our power; it's reclaiming it," Johnson said. "Oftentimes we blame ourselves for things and we feel embarrassed, afraid or ashamed of what happened. Holistic forgiveness is about forgiving ourselves first."
Also, this past May she hosted the online Soulful Sex Summit, which is offered in twice yearly winter and summer sessions with a panel of experts. The winter sessions are being replayed at SoulfulSexSummit.com, leading up to the summer session, which will begin June 19 with no membership charges.
"The Soulful Sex Summit isn't just about sexual intercourse; it's about the energetic ability to create and express ourselves," said Johnson, who discovered her passion for empowering women through her own process of self-healing.
