SGS India Inaugurates Global Auto Component Testing Lab in Pune

Online, May 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Pune, India: SGS India recently started operations at its new state of the art Auto Components Testing Laboratory in the heart of Western India's Auto hub - Chakan in Pune. Spread over 12,000 square feet and equipped with best of class technology and equipments, this one of its kind facility is designed to support the automotive industry in offering world class analysis at both Materials and Component levels at the door step of the huge automotive supply-chain based in Pune/Indian west coast.

The SGS Auto laboratory currently focuses on testing of interior and exterior auto components and can also conduct chemical tests for hard goods, articles in the toys segment and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) testing. In future, the laboratory will house many other latest generation evaluation facilities and expand its scope to various international &/or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approvals. This extension would complement SGS' existing Auto laboratory in Gurgaon which was set up in the year 2005. The Gurgaon Auto laboratory is globally recognized and working seamlessly with majors like VW, RENAULT, NISSAN, DAIMLER, FORD to name a few, as well as their suppliers.
