Sharon Hill International President to Chair Triangle Big Brother Big Sisters
Online, February 8, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Chapel Hill, NC: The Triangle Big Brothers Big Sisters 2014-2015 Board of Directors has been elected, naming Sharon Hill as the chairperson. Sharon Hill, a Triangle-based business etiquette expert and diversity trainer, has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters for more than 5 years, having served as the board secretary for the last three.
"I admire all the fine work the organization does to help so many kids needing mentors," said Hill.
Triangle Big Brothers Big Sisters serves more than 1,000 children each year by making meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles").
Current board president, Mr. Tom Hahn will work closely with Hill to prepare her to step into his role in 2014.
"As Board President, my mission will be to continue to work with the team to raise the much-needed funds to keep the organization financially sound. By doing so, we can match even more boys and girls with mentors. I also want to continue with the terrific camaraderie the board members have. We are all working toward one goal of helping children," said Hill.
Hill, besides being an accomplished speaker and etiquette expert, has more than 20 years experience in corporate business as a global manager with IBM, and was the leader of a prominent diversity network within the company. Most recently, she served as the Toastmasters District Governor for North Carolina and has authored several books on business etiquette and succeeding in corporate America. Hill is also a co-host of the radio program Today's Business on 1360 WCHL of Chapel Hill.
