Shining Lights Of Sikh Community From Across The World To Be Recognised At Awards Ceremony

With attendees from across the world and the support of the first Sikh to be appointed Justice of the High Court the second Sikh Awards is set to be a celebration of all that is good within the Sikh community.

Special contributions and accomplishments Sikhs have made in the fields of business, education, charity, health, sports and media will be recognised at the awards ceremony to be held at The Hilton Hotel, London on Sunday 9 October 2011.

"I am very pleased to be associated with the awards," says Rabinder Singh, who will be the first person of Indian decent to be appointed as a Justice of the High Court who is a judge on the awards panel. "We will be recognising the achievements of Sikhs all over the world from a wide range of activites."

Winners at the first Sikh Awards in 2010 including Dr Kartar Singh Larvani, founder of Vitabiotics and Satnam Singh Dhillon, member of the England polo team.

The awards are the brainchild of Navdeep Singh Bansal, director of the Sikh Directory media organisation. "The Sikh community received a lot of positive attention during the recent riots in London and other large cities. In a profound interfaith act, the Sikh community proactively helped people and local authorities in many ways, including protecting all places of worship and businesses regardless of which faith they belonged to.," says Bansal. "The Sikh Awards 2011 will highlight all that is good within the Sikh community and is being supported by many well known sponsors including ABN Amro Bank N.V. and Jaguar. We look forward to welcoming guests from Dubai, USA, Hong Kong, Africa and India."
