Shiptec China 2012 --the Biggest Maritime Exhibition in China in This Year
Online, May 15, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Shiptec China is widely recognized by the industry players as the second largest and most important maritime exhibition in China for its seven editions of success since 1998, but with a history of 20 years since 1992. In 2012, the exhibition is expected to attract over 500 exhibitors and 15,000 professional visitors and the gross exhibition space will reach 25,000 square meters, which represents a 15% growth than its previous show in 2010.
Bohai Bay Area is once again confirmed by the Chinese Government becoming one of the three shipbuilding & offshore engineering bases of China in its twelfth five-years development plan (2011-2015). Injections of governmental funds will be made into this area to upgrade the shipbuilding & offshore industry, especially the high value-added projects, while Dalian is in the first place to get the support. Shipyards or even foreign ship owners will benefit from it. The policy bank, China Development Bank will establish its Ship Finance Center in Dalian this September. China Ship Fund and other banks have strong presence in the city giving out ship finance support and loans. Dalian is becoming a ship financing center.
Two theme exhibit areas, offshore engineering and ship finance will be set up, and two major forums on both topics will be hosted alongside the main exhibition. Besides, other activities will be arranged like Class Society Networking, technical seminars, product presentations, visit to local shipyards etc. that will keep you busy during the exhibition period.
Local shipyards in Dalian and surrounding seashore cities in Bohai Bay Area and other leading shipyards including CSIC, STX Dalian, COSCO Shipyard, CSSC, CIMC Raffles, Rongsheng Shipbuilding, Liaohe Offshore etc. will be invited to exhibit at Shiptec and their procurement managers will also be invited to visit the show and attend business match meetings.
So far, the exhibition is selling good. For the international part, six overseas pavilions confirmed their participation, including South Korea, Japan, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Holland. STX Dalian, Mann+Hummel, MAN, ABB, Panasia, Techcross, FEIN Asia, YANMAR, 17 Group of Norway etc. and class societies like ABS, GL, BV, RINA, KR, ClassNK, DNV will be exhibiting. So the international exhibition area is filling up, and over 50% of the exhibition space has been sold.
