Singapore Private Home Sales Hit Three Month High In July.

Online, August 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Singapore property market sees a new three month high private home sales in July. New private home sales rose to a three month high as demand for affordably priced suburban homes continued to power the market.

Compared to June sales figure of 1,371 units, July's strong sales of 1,943 units marked a 42 per cent jumped. It also sets a new high since April's 2,497 units of private homes were sold.

If executive condominiums were also included in the sales data, the number of units transacted rose to 2,067 unit in July, quite higher compared June's number of 1,725 units.

Market observers have several reasons for the spike in July numbers. But many agree the most likely reason is the school holidays in June which resulted in a drop in sales. Other market observers believe that the reasonably priced new launches in suburban areas such as Tampines and Punggol has helped to boost overall sales. Many of the best selling Singapore condominium can also be found in Punggol and Upper Changi area. These estates have also seen good take up rate for previous launches.

New suburban homes made up almost eight in 10 of all homes sold. City centre homes and city fringe homes are showing significantly lower transactions. Buyers looking at the suburban areas are taking a long term investment view. Many are in no hurry to purchase their homes as the Government will be releasing more land in the near future. Some have chosen to wait for more suitable location and pricing.
