Singer and Pianist Danielle Antonio Records New Blues Rock Song At The Legendary Tiki Studio In New York
New York, NY, June 4, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Danielle Antonio’s "Freedom and Philosophy" is a new rock/pop single released by Singer-Songwriter Danielle Antonio on Antelope Recordings. Here she brings some groovy rock, roots, country, a little bit of pop and a lotta determination. You can sample and buy “Freedom and Philosophy” on iTunes here: http://bit.ly/DanielleAntonio-iTunes. It’s part of her upcoming second CD which she is recording at TIKI Studios in Glen Cove, NY. For those who don't know about this music community …
Glen Cove, on Long Island's north shore, is a hub of top-notch studios which came to be known over the years as "Studio Row". Many started here in the 70s/80s and have been producing NYC's and Long Island’s finest artists and recordings for decades (Cove City Sound Studios, PIE Studios, TIKI Studios and more). Some still showcase orchestra-size live rooms, desirable vintage gear, pristine acoustics, roomy control rooms and an overall pretty cool vibe. Most accommodate today’s smaller projects and budgets and all offer cutting-edge digital technology and professional staffs (some still have 2” Studer machines for the die-hard analog lover). Just a stone's throw away from one another, they all produce some serious sound.
Fred Guarino owns TIKI Studios (http://www.tikirecording.com) in downtown Glen Cove and is a long-time audio engineer/producer in the area. He sold his historic vintage studio several years ago (to a major NYC female recording artist) and now operates a smaller but more manageable operation, keeping him plenty busy. He has worked with a long list of established artists, has his "wall of fame" of records and even books the occasional 3-hour session with top players who read charts (pretty hard to find anymore). And in the recording world Fred is a rare blend of an “extremely-gifted-yet-incredibly-friendly” engineer/producer. No ego, no attitude, no BS. He runs his sessions so efficiently that his clientele often have a hard time working anywhere else.
After having self-produced her first CD, "NEW ELEMENTS", Danielle turned to father/musician/producer Pete Antell (http://peteantell.com) to produce her sophomore record. They initially chose TIKI Studios because of its proximity and reputation but were blown away by both the sonic quality and the overall ease of working with Fred. They've enlisted some of the area’s top session players including guitarist Mark Newman, drummer Shawn Murray, percussionist Emedin Rivera, and bassist/keyboardist Peter Antonio. Combining Danielle's strong singer-songwriter muscle, her dad's record-making mojo, some remarkable musicianship and a top-level production house, the new record just can't miss. Freedom and Philosophy has picked up press on Art Entertainment Breaking News here: http://bit.ly/DA-Entertainment-News and Bored 4 Music here: http://bit.ly/DA-Bored-4-Music; amongst other online and print publications.
