Singer Doreen Taylor Enlists to Help Special Operations Troops and their Families

Singer/Entertainer Doreen Taylor has partnered with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation to raise money for the families of wounded and fallen special operations troops.

Doreen Taylor has it all: a classically trained singing voice that can handle everything from a raucous cover of "Redneck Woman" to a smoldering version of the torch classic "My Funny Valentine" and looks that have drawn interest from some of the country's top modeling agencies.

For most entertainers, playing lead roles in national tours of Broadway shows and packing houses during long stints in Atlantic City night clubs would be crowning achievements, but this talented young woman is just getting started.

Well on her way to becoming a multi-media phenomenon, Doreen has volunteered to support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation: "I decided that I have been so blessed with so many great opportunities that I wanted to give something back. I decided to create a new project where I can give a large percentage of the proceeds to my favorite charity."

Part of the project is a coffee-table style book called 'Coming Home,' which is a collection of re-creations of some of World War II's most famous pin-up poses featuring Doreen. The book also includes a CD full of some of World War II's greatest love songs.

While the official release date for "Coming Home" is March 1st, a sneak preview release party will unveil the book at a red carpet gala in Philadelphia on February 26th. Twenty percent of the profits from each book will go to the Warrior Foundation. The gala will also include a silent auction with 100% of all proceeds going to the Warrior Foundation.

"We are honored that such a lovely and talented young woman wants to partner with the foundation in supporting special operations personnel and their families at the time of their greatest need," said SOWF President, John T. Carney, Jr.

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a top-rated nonprofit organization, rated "4 Stars" for financial responsibility by the charity watchdog organization, Charity Navigator, supports some 60,000 Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel and their families through its two main programs: providing immediate financial assistance to the families of severely wounded special operations personnel and providing surviving children of fallen special operations personnel with a college education.
