Singer/Songwriter Laura Michelle to Donate All Profits from "Silent Night/Hallelujah" Medley to Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center

Follows Her Viral Hits, "Chuck Norris" (13 million views) and "Chameleon" (5.5 million views)

After the success of her irresistibly quirky viral hit, “Chuck Norris” (13 million views) and special-effects oeuvre, “Chameleon” (5.5 million views), pop singer/songwriter Laura Michelle releases a tender, serene medley of “Silent Night” and “Hallelujah” for fans just before the holiday season.  Hear it here: https://m.soundcloud.com/zendzian/laura-michelle-silent-night-hallelujah-mash-up.

Proceeds from the sale of all downloads will go to PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center.  The accompanying video for “Silent Night/Hallelujah” features personal photos of the singer taken throughout her childhood and closes with an image of her father, who died when she was only 15 years old yet continues to influence her work.  In just two days, the video is already climbing quickly to 1 million views having amassed nearly 900,000 views.

"‘Silent Night’ is such a classic, beautiful Christmas song,” Laura says, explaining why she chose to record the popular tune.  “And I know ‘Hallelujah’ isn't considered a Christmas song, but it is one of my favorites.  Plus I love the idea of doing a piano-based version, as you don't usually hear "Hallelujah" without the guitar.”

Laura recorded the tracks with Gerry Mattei (Pia Toscano, Bobby McFerrin), David Filice (Cassadee Pope, Macy Gray), Jacob Moses, Eugene Huang and Ryan Andrews in Los Angeles.  She is teaming up with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, which actively leads social change so that bullying is no longer considered an accepted childhood rite of passage. PACER provides innovative resources for students, parents, educators, and others, and recognizes bullying as a serious community issue that impacts education, physical and emotional health, and the safety and well-being of students.

“I spent time with an amazing group of high school students and the Los Angeles associate for PACER’s Bullying Prevention Center at a recent concert of mine,” she explains, “and it really reinforced the importance of what PACER does.  I fell in love with the service that PACER provides and want to support them in every way possible.”

The holiday songs show a side of Laura Michelle that her fans haven’t yet seen; pensive, thoughtful and fearlessly candid.  A self-described “goofball,” Michelle’s lyrics and videos are usually delightful romps that celebrate the uniqueness inside of everyone.  From “Chuck Norris” to “Chameleon,” the songs on her recent album, “Novel With No End” are charming odes that urge listeners to embrace themselves.  “Silent Night/Hallelujah” delivers a similar message of inner strength, but with an intensity and somber earnest, unlike her earlier work.

“Silent Night/Hallelujah” can be found at iTunes for $0.99.
