Datahop, a division of Six Degrees Group, has become the first carrier to offer Tier 1 Transit and Mulithomed Transit Services directly from Interxion's new London data centre (LON 2).
Online, September 25, 2012 (Newswire.com) - INTERXION HOLDING NV (NYSE: INXN), a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announced that Datahop, a division of Six Degrees Group, has become the first carrier to offer Tier 1 Transit and Mulithomed Transit Services directly from Interxion's new London data centre (LON 2). Interxion's London campus is carrier dense with over 50 carriers present.
Six Degrees Group's Datahop network consists of a resilient, high-speed fibre ring that connects 21 points of presence (PoPs) in London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris. As part of an ongoing expansion of this network, they chose to grow into the LON 2 site to take advantage of Interxion's diverse customer base. By locating with Interxion, Six Degrees Group can derive business value from being in close proximity to a wide range of potential customers within Interxion's Digital Media, Financial and Cloud Hubs, thus expanding the reach of its Datahop offering. Interxion's customers will benefit from high availability, speed and cost efficiency of the connectivity, including multihoming solutions.
Daniel Lowe, Managing Director of Six Degrees Group's Managed Data Division, commented, "We pride ourselves on acting fast to capitalise on new opportunities and our customers expect our Datahop service to be connected to the right places. We knew that Interxion's newest data centre could offer us access to a unique community of customers and partners. On top of this, Interxion's best of breed facilities ensure that we can provide our customers with the resilience, speed and reliability they need so we're delighted to be the first network operator to offer Tier 1 Transit and Mulithomed Transit Services directly from LON 2."
Greg McCulloch, UK Managing Director Interxion, added, "Good connectivity options are critical to our customers and this announcement further reflects our commitment to continually growing our carrier density within our London Campus.
