Skeleton Key Pictures Dissects Racial Prejudices In New Play "Bus Stops"

Playwright Promises You Won't Look At a Bus Stop The Same Again

BUS STOPS, an original play written by award-winning playwright Jaimyon Parker, is a surprising and touching piece that follows similar events at two different bus stops to their inevitable conclusions. The characters and situations are comically explosive at times, then poignantly emotional at others. The story forces the audience to deal with experiences including teenage homelessness and prostitution, love, life, and fear.

By dissecting stereotypical boundaries, thought processes, and racial prejudices while displaying an invariably common ground for all, this piece becomes an in your face look at how we view race, environment, destiny, and fate.

The play boasts the talents of Leonard Thomas and Greg DePetro in the lead roles, with a strong supporting cast including Malika Blessing, Christianna Carmine, Natalie Kabenjian, Andy Ottenweller, Aungelique Scott, and Jaimyon Parker himself who is fresh off his critically acclaimed performance in John DiFusco's hit revival of TRACERS.

The award-winning crew includes Lighting Design - Sammie Wayne (coming off of his award-winning design for CAMP LOGAN), Set Design - Mark V. Jones, Costumer - Peggy Taylor, and Stage Manager - LaShada Jackson.

BUS STOPS runs Thursday through Sunday, February 28th to March 9th, at The Complex "Flight" Theater, located at 6476 Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood, CA, 90038. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night performances begin at 8pm while the Sunday matinees start at 4pm.
