Online, December 23, 2009 (Newswire.com) - SkillStorm today announced that in lieu of employee gifts and parties this holiday season, the company is making monetary donations to charities across the country. SkillStorm employees were asked to participate in an online holiday poll, created by the SkillStorm management team, with a majority of employees electing to forego a holiday party for the benefit of charity. Partnering with TisBest.com, a site dedicated exclusively to charity gift cards, SkillStorm will be donating over $15,000 to charities chosen by SkillStorm employees in areas including San Diego, California; Dallas, Texas; Fayetteville, North Carolina; and the Washington, D.C. Metro area.
"This is a great opportunity for our company to give back for the holidays," said SkillStorm CEO Vince Virga. "We are always looking for opportunities to make a difference in the communities that have given us so much. We're so proud to be able to support the mission of all of these charitable organizations."
SkillStorm employees were given a charity gift card, which they could use to donate to any charity or charities of their choice. Once employees complete their donations, holiday ornaments with their name and the charity or charities to which they donated are hung on trees prominently displayed in SkillStorm office areas.
