Online, July 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Slyde Handboards is the First Handboard Company to become a member of The Surf Industry Manufactures Association (SIMA)
The Surf Industry Manufactures Association (SIMA) was found in 1989 and is composed of "leading" surf industry product suppliers with in the USA.
The "unique" collaboration of surfing manufactures from wetsuits to sunglasses, work together at SIMA to increase interest in surfing and now handboarding, while bringing awareness to the protection of the world oceans.

In 2011 "The Waterman's Weekend" the main fundraising source for the SIMA Environmental Fund, raised over $400,000 for Ocean Preservation.
Waterman's Weekend is a two-day fundraising event that exclusively benefits the SIMA Environmental Fund, a charitable foundation that awards grants to various environmental groups based on their dedication to preserving and protecting the world's oceans, beaches and waves.
The Waterman's Weekend will take place Friday August 10th and Saturday August 11th 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, California.
The weekend event begins with the Waterman's Classic Golf Tournament along with live and silent auctions.
The Waterman's Ball and Auction is featured as the main event, which not only allows the surf industry and friends of the environment to raise money for important oceanic causes, but also honors and celebrates those making significant contributions in the industry with the prestigious annual Waterman of the Year, Environmentalist of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards.
